Prototypes’ second annual “Hope, Health and Independence” Charity Golf Tournament, held on Monday, August 29, at the historic Wilshire Country Club, has been proclaimed a resounding success, providing fun for all, topping last year’s event with a fundraising total of more than $36,000, and bringing awareness to the need for programs like those provided at Prototypes.  Powered by a healthy breakfast, golfers hit the course for a putting contest followed by a shotgun start on the sunny links. Post-play festivities continued at the 19th Hole Party and Auction, where celebrity host Bob Eubanks kept the action lively, with spirited bidding for an exclusive in-home catered dinner for ten, overnight stay at Pelican Hill as well as a vacation house in Costa Rica. All were moved when a young mother who currently attends Prototypes’ program in Pomona shared her personal story of recovery from substance abuse.

On October 18, 2010, avid golfers and Prototypes supporters gathered at the beautiful MountainGate Country Club in Los Angeles to attend Prototypes 1st Annual Hope, Health and Independence Charity Golf Tournament. With a strong turnout of golfers and sponsors, Prototypeswas able to raise approximately $30,000 and greatly increase awareness for its mission to rebuild the lives of women, children and communities impacted by substance abuse, mental illness and domestic violence.

Prototypes guests celebrated the remarkable women in our lives with a delicious tea service accompanied by an appetizing spread of tea sandwiches and pastries. Complemented with ocean views via the private Jonathan Beach Club, it was the perfect way to celebrate Mom, Grandma, Wife, Friends and Family. A portion of proceeds were donated to Prototypes services and programs and L`image Photography captured the memorable day with family and group portraits at the event. Prototypes Women`s Center of Ventura County hosted a thoughtful and heart-warming Strengthening Recovery Luncheon. Personal stories of recovery were shared among women, family members and volunteers.

The event was FREE! If you would like to be a part of strengthening recovery in our community through financial support and/or volunteering, we would appreciate it. Your support directly helps women, children and families of Ventura County. View pictures of this inspiring event below!
