PROTOTYPES relies on the local, state and federal government for a majority of the funds that support our crucial programs. A small, but important portion of our funding comes from private foundation grants, individual donors and client fees. Due to the dynamic nature of government funding, PROTOTYPES is taking active measures to further diversify its funding sources in order to ensure the availability of services to our communities and protect the quality of our programs.

PROTOTYPES’ unique outpatient and residential programs provide crucial rehabilitative services for women, children and men throughout Southern California. The services and programs offered provide individuals and families access to treatment for a variety of conditions, such as substance abuse, mental illness, domestic violence and trauma, as well as services geared at improving life skills. These services include parenting, vocational and educational programs to promote and ensure success beyond program completion.

As a non-profit agency, we work hard to secure funding through government contracts and grants to provide our core services.  However, we rely on private donations to provide the enhanced services that are not typically covered through our contracts and grants.  Unlike many other residential treatment programs, women who come to PROTOTYPES are able to bring their children with them. The children are able to receive critical preventative and treatment services. These programs for children are essential to helping end the inter-generational cycle of addiction, mental illness, domestic violence, child abuse and poverty. And, while government contracts provide vital funding for treatment for the women, they often do not cover these enhanced services we provide for the children.

Given the nature of our comprehensive approach and commitment to serving such a wide range of clients, PROTOTYPES is left with the challenge of securing sources of revenue to support the vital services we provide to so many people in need.

PROTOTYPES depends on our generous donors who recognize the positive impact we make in their communities, and we would love for you to consider our organization for your next contribution.
