Mental Health

Prototypes ensures that the mental health needs of all clients, regardless of age or situation, are met through the development of individualized care and treatment plans.

Prototypes’ Outpatient Behavioral Health Centers provide comprehensive mental health services for men, women and children. Services range from prevention and early intervention to more intensive services for those with more serious and chronic conditions. Staff provides services at Prototypes and in the community. These can include individual, group and family counseling, medication management and medication-assisted therapies, case management, and referrals and coordination with primary care clinics.

Co-occurring Disorders

Many individuals in recovery face multiple problems simultaneously, including both substance use and mental health disorders. Our treatment services are designed to provide all of the interventions a client needs to make a successful recovery. Recognizing the link among trauma, addiction and mental illness, we also provide services that help individuals learn new coping skills to address histories of trauma.

Prevention and Early Intervention Services (PEI) provide children, youth and adults with brief, evidence-based treatment for less severe mental health conditions.

CalWORKs Program works with unemployed adults with children, providing mental health treatment with the goal of assisting them in finding and sustaining employment.

Wellness Center provides groups and peer-run activities focused on mental health recovery, healthy living and community reintegration.

Field Capable Clinical Services provide specialty mental health services to Transitional Aged Youth (also known as TAY – young people aged 16-25) and adults with severe mental illness or co-occurring mental health and substance abuse issues who are reluctant to seek services at traditional mental health clinics.

Full Service Partnership provides intensive, integrated, comprehensive mental health and substance abuse services to TAY and adults with severe mental illness or co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse with a history of incarcerations, hospitalizations and/or homelessness.

Community Reintegration Program offers clients who are recently released from prison with a range of intensive mental health services including medication management. Staff also provide substance use services and conduct outreach to the jails.
